The big Oh-No birthday Part 2

Then the second weekend of celebrating kicked off with a trip home to Anglesey for outdoor adventure/gourmet treat.

Thank you Mum and Dad and Noney for making it so special xx

Day 1 : Anglesey Coastal Path. Amlwch Port to Cemaes Bay.

Quite challenging for an afternoon walk in September. 7.5 miles of UNDULATING coastal path. But the views were sooo worth it.

One of the highlights of our day.. the Atlantic Grey Seal with his cute doggy face. He rolled over to show us his belly before swimming away. Wonderful.
Day 2 : A trip to Plas Newydd, an ancient burial ground, stepping stones and a 6 course Chinese banquet.

Beautiful Plas Newydd, the country home of the Marquess of Anglesey.

We had to go and find the wooden leg of the 1st Marquess of Anglesey. During the battle of Waterloo he exclaimed "By God, sir, I've lost my leg!" to which Wellington replied, "By God, sir, so you have!". It is said the wooden leg didn't stop him from enjoying long walks. At the ripe old age of 71 he even danced the Polonaise at the Emperor of Russia's Winter Palace.

A gentleman's boot jack

Next up, a short visit to neolithic site, Bryn Celli Ddu, an ancient burial ground and the only henge in Wales.

Unbelievably we were allowed to enter and get close to ancient history

Jumping over the Gian's stepping stones, near the village of Newborough.

Day 3 : Glamping and hiking up Mount Snowdon

A total surprise. I have ALWAYS wanted to sleep in a Mongolian style Yurt.

Hot chocolate in Welsh is Diod Siocled Poith :)

Now I've never been camping like THIS before

Man make fire

Goodnight :)

Walk up Wales' highest mountain, Mount Snowdon

The path up

Our picnic spot. Sitting on the grass on the edge of a ledge

To help steady the nerves of the ledge walk - a wee dram o' single malt

Of course the Welsh mountain sheep had no troubles

The path down

Wild mountain goat.. *super stinky
